My Profile
I started painting with some ‘serious intent’ approximately 9 years ago after having entered the Holbrook Trust Award in 2003 and winning 1st prize much to my great surprise. It certainly spurred me on as I was intending to give up art due to great frustration at not being able to express myself as I wished, a dilemma for many a budding artist! I then went on to gain Runner Up again with the Holbrook Trust and also 2nd prize in the Kathleen Marchant Competition with my painting of the Watson Fothergill Head Office which is situated on George Street in Nottingham.
Over the years my love of colour has certainly developed and I like to use many media and tend to veer to many styles. I am inspired by my love of the human form and portraiture, a direction I seem to be gravitating to. This increasing understanding of the many avenues I can take constantly challenges me and I look forward to each new endeavour.
I often exhibit at the Nottingham Society of Artist's Trust Gallery, Friar Lane and examples of my work can also be seen at True Colours Art Gallery, Mapperley NG3 5QS and on my own website. I also undertake commissions.'
